Upcoming Children's Book Sale and General Meeting of the Friends of the Library

Library Friends to hold General Meeting on October 25;
Nov. 1 and 2 Children’s Book Sale and other events to be discussed

The Friends of the Lane Library will hold its General Meeting on Thursday, October 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Hampton’s Lane Library in the Lane Room.
Agenda items include staffing for the upcoming Children’s Book Sale on November 1 and 2, the Holiday Bake Sale and Raffle, the Valentine Tea and a vote on the Friends Bulk Mailing.

Comments Friends volunteer Linda Sadlock, “We have a number of exciting and important projects that we are organizing, and we encourage all members of the Friends to attend the General Meeting on October 25.”  Volunteer staffing for the Children’s Book Sale will be a top agenda item as many volunteers are needed to staff this popular event.

The Children’s Book Sale is open to the public and features an assortment of children's books including picture books, early readers, learn-to-read books as well as chapter books. Children's DVDs, videos and puzzles will also be available.
In addition to the variety of reading material, another popular feature of the Children’s Book Sale is the Doll Clothes Sale which is back by popular demand.   Items, which fit the American Girl doll, the Bitty Baby doll and the boy and girl twin dolls, are limited so interested children and families are encouraged to purchase their selections early.

The Children’s Book Sale will be held in the Lane Room on Thursday, November 1, from 3-7 p.m., and Friday, November 2, from 9:30-3:30 p.m. All items are 25 cents (excluding doll clothes), and donations of gently-used books will be accepted up to and continuing through the sale.

All proceeds raised from the November 1 and 2 Children's Book Fair benefit the Friends, a multi-age volunteer organization whose mission is to preserve and strengthen the library as a community resource. The Friends of the Lane Library sponsors a variety of speakers, exhibits, and community events for the benefit of the Lane Memorial Library.  For more information, visit the Friends website at www.hampton.lib.nh.us/library/friends/index.htm
