Disney's "A Christmas Carol" Dec. 9 and 11

In the same animated tradition as his earlier film The Polar Express, director Robert Zemeckis created a new version of Dickens' timeless classic A Christmas Carol. As with his first film, Zemeckis animated the movie over the actual performances of each actor, with a wonderful cast that included Jim Carey (who plays the miserly Scrooge and does the voices of all the Christmas ghosts), Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes, Bob Hoskins, and Robin Wright Penn. Showing on Thursday, December 9 at 5:30 PM, and again on Saturday, December 11 at 11:00 AM.

Although rated PG and suitable for family viewing, parents should note that some of the action sequences may be too intense for small children. Presented in our high-definition Weston Theater, with popcorn and drinks provided by the Friends of the Library. Admission is free.
