"Make Sure It's Me" - Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 PM

The Lane Memorial Library and ACT ONE invite you to join us on Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 PM for MAKE SURE IT'S ME/nh, a community discussion about Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) being experienced by American military service members.

MAKE SURE IT'S ME/nh is an arts and education program created by ACT ONE, based on the play Make Sure It's Me by Kate Wenner, an award-winning former producer of ABC's 20/20. This powerful play is a fictionalized account of five injured veterans and the medical researcher committed to their care.  The script is drawn from months of interviews Wenner conducted with service members, their families, and medical experts.

ACT ONE's Associate Director Leslie Pasternack will host MSIM/nh and will be joined by retired US Army Sgt. Conan Marchi and Jenny Freeman, a certified brain injury specialist. Mr. Marchi served two combat tours in Iraq as an Infantry soldier and received a purple heart for being shot by a sniper while leading a patrol in HIt, Iraq. Ms. Freeman works at Krempels Center, a community day program for adults with acquired brain injury.  The panelists will present information about TBI and read selected scenes from the play Make Sure It's Me that highlight the impact of TBI on service members and their families.

This presentation is free and open to the public, and has been made possible by generous funding provided by the NH Charitable Foundation and the Rotary Club of Hampton.
