Free Tax Assistance at the Library

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will once again be offered at the library during tax season this year. It will begin February 2nd and run through April 15th. Hours are: Monday/Friday 9:15-12:30 and Tuesday/Wednesday 5:15 to 7:30 pm. It is also available Saturdays from 9:30 to 12:30, but only in February. Call the library for more information.

The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $42,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.
