Teen Summer Programming

Today is the first day of summer, but after school lets out tomorrow, Hampton students will summer vacation-bound! The Lane Library is offering some fun programming for teens (6th grade and up) starting next week, in the air-conditioned Lane Room, on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Here's the line-up:

July 6 Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (rated PG, 118 minutes)
July 13 Game Day Part 2: Board Games!
July 20 Pirate Scavenger Hunt
July 27 Game Day Part 3: Family Feud!

And don't forget that the Youth Book Group continues to meet every other Thursday afternoon @ 3:30 p.m.:
June 24
July 8
July 22
August 5
August 19

Gaming Afternoon is also a year-round event, occurring on the last Friday of every month from 3-4:30. So that means that this Friday, June 25, is Game Day!
Play Beatles Rock Band, Rock Band, Lego Batman, Madden 09... in the air-conditioned Lane Room on the big screen with surround sound! Feel free to bring your own X Box 360 compatible multi-player game rated T or under, if you'd rather play something else, along with controllers. Lane Library owns all of the Rock Band instrument controllers, but only one regular controller.

Teens may earn a raffle ticket for every teen program that they attend. They may also earn a ticket for every hour that they read, log, and submit to Kirsten. An additional ticket may be earned if teens choose to write a review of a book that they read for the program, which will be posted in the Teen Section. The raffle will be drawn at the Finale on Tuesday, August 3. Please see Kirsten @ the Reference Desk for a Reading Log and/or Teen Review Form.
