Press Release on Fall Community Events Hosted by the Lane Library Friends

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Twilight Book Club, Doll Clothes Sale Top List of Fall Events hosted by
Lane Library Friends

September 17, 2008 (HAMPTON, NH) - The Friends of the Lane Memorial
Library are hosting a variety of activities this fall for members of the
greater Hampton community.

The Twilight Book Club continues to meet the first Tuesday of each
month at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Birdsong: A Novel of Love and War by
Sebastian Faulks will be the focus of the October 7 discussion. The
Tuesday, November 4, discussion will focus on the The Thirteenth Tale by
Diane Setterfield, and on Tuesday, December 2, conversation will focus on
Last Night at the Lobster by Stewart O'Nan. Comments Twilight Book Club
organizer and Friends Vice-President Debra Perry, "We're providing the
list of upcoming books so members -- new and returning -- can read
selections in advance and come to the discussions fully prepared. While
we do have an active core group, we always welcome new members to the
Twilight Book Club."

A doll clothes sale will be held Wednesday, October 8, from 9:30
a.m. to 7:30 p.m. An assortment of clothes will be available to purchase
including party dresses, jumpers, pants, blouses, faux fur and fleece
coats, nightgowns and robes, skirts, sweaters and hats. Items are
designed to fit American Girl dolls, and proceeds from the sale benefit
the Children's room of the Lane Library.

The Friends continue to collect gently-used books for its fall
children's book sale (date to be announced). Donations will be accepted up
to and continuing through the sale, and items can be brought directly to
the Lane Library children's room. Picture books and easy readers are
especially appreciated.

The Friends are also selling 2009 Entertainment Books featuring
discount coupons for area restaurants, stores and movie theatres. Each
book contains a membership card good for two-for-one dining as well as
discount coupons for shopping, movie tickets, travel, goods and services
in New Hampshire, Southern Maine and Massachusetts. Individual books are
$25 and can be purchased at the Library’s circulation desk. The books
also include discount coupons for airlines, hotels, rental cars and
national chain stores.

Plans continue to unfold for the Friends 50th Anniversary Gala on
Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $20 in advance
and $25 at the door. Tickets will be available to purchase soon at the
Lane Library.
