American Girl event and "Isabelle" movie - Thurs. 7/31

Join us for our first-ever American Girl event! Bring your American Girl doll or stuffed animal and you can make something special for them!

This is a free event but attendance is limited to 60 kids. Please call the Children's Room (926-4729) or drop by to sign up.

Thursday, July 31

12:45 - Picnic in the library! Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch to enjoy before/during the movie

1:00 - Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight. Nine-year-old Isabelle is an inspired dancer with a flair for fashion design. She's thrilled to be studying ballet at a prestigious performing arts school, but her classmates are so talented—and she can't help feeling that she's always in the shadow of her "perfect" older sister, Jade. So when her idol, a famous ballerina, encourages her to audition for a professional ballet, Isabelle isn't sure she can land the role. And when a competitive classmate starts pointing out Isabelle's every mistake, her confidence sinks even further. Can she find the courage to step into the spotlight and discover her own way to shine? Not Rated. 100 minutes.

2:40 - Ballet Dance Presentation. Dancers from the NHAPA dance company will be here to show off some of their ballet moves and to teach the kids a few!

3:00 - Doll t-shirt design project. Each kid will receive a hand-made AG doll-sized t-shirt and we will have supplies to create your own design on the shirt.

Last but not least, we are having a trivia question raffle based on Isabelle's American Girl books. Click here to download the questions! Call the Children's Room to place the books on hold, read the books, answer the questions and turn the sheet in at the Children's Room. We will be raffling off copies of the Isabelle books, as well as an AG-doll-sized bed and other doll accessories. (You do not need to be present at the event to win.)
