Kids' and Teens' Summer Reading Week 2! (June 29-July 4)

Here's what's coming this week for Teens and Kids' at the Library (Just a quick note that the library will be closed for Independence Day on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4!)

Children's Room Programs

Signups for the Summer Reading Programs continue online or in the Children's Room. After you've signed up make sure to come by and pick up your free book. This year each age group (Family Readers and Independent Readers) will have Bingo Cards and Time Logs available. There are different prizes/categories available for the age ranges and the types of reading. Guidelines are available here.
  • Tuesday, June 30 at 10 am: Storytime with Miss Wendy in the Children's Room. Summer storytimes are "all ages" and drop-in.
  • Wednesday, July 1 @ 6:30 pmThe Princess, The Pauper, and other stories combines several Moroccan Fairy Tales into one beautiful story. Young prince Amir, grew up on the tales told to him by his family. Follow along as these stories come to life and help him as he must make many important decisions. This play explores the lessons learned in fairy tales such as The Princess and the Pauper, The Girl who lived with Gazelles; The Stone by the Door. (Winnacunnet High School Auditorium)
  • Thursday, July 2 at 10 am: Storytime with Miss Paulina in the Children's Room. Summer storytimes are "all ages" and drop-in.

Teens can sign-up any time! Teens will get a Summer ID, the number they'll use each time they submit their reading logs for summer reading. Check with the Library after signing up for your Summer ID number.
  • Teen Summer Reading kicks off officially June 30th, 3:30-4:30 p.m. with a Summer Hair Wrap and Bracelet project in the Teen Area.
  • July 1st, 1:30-3:00 p.m. we'll be hosting the Center for Wildlife from Cape Neddick in the Lane Room. They'll be bringing their animal ambassadors and will talk about all the work they do at the Center and with wildlife. Open to those 10 and up.
  • July 2nd, 3:00-5:00 p.m. we'll host a Movie in the Teen Area with free popcorn.
  • Our first weekly raffle for gift cards (Dunkin Donuts, Las Olas, Blitz and Captain's Cove) will be next Monday, July 6 at 3:30-4, make sure to get lots of raffle tickets in this week!
