Kids' and Teens' Summer Programs Week 3!

Here's what's coming this week for Teens and Kids' at the Library 
logoMonday, July 6 @ 9 am: Signups start for the American Girl Event (to be held on Friday, July 17). Call 926-4729 or come by the Children's Room. Signups are required for this event.
Tuesday, July 7 @ 10 am: Storytime with Miss Wendy in the Children's Room. Summer storytimes are "all ages" and drop-in.
Tues., July 7 @ 6:30 pm: Superhero Pajama Storytime AND Stuffed Animal Sleepover—  Join Miss Paulina for a super fun evening storytime. Wear your best jammies and bring your (second) favorite stuffed animal. After the storytime your stuffed animals are welcome to stay for a library sleepover. When you come back the next day to pick them up we’ll have pictures to show you all of the fun they had while you were at home asleep! (Lane Room)
K9 RescueWed., July 8 @ 10 am: NE K-9 Search & Rescue—“Lostproofing” Your Kids: New England K-9 SAR has a strong commitment to educating children and adults about how to be safe in the woods. We talk to children about how to “lostproof” themselves.; and if they get lost, how to stay safe. And of course, the dogs enjoy showing off their nosey talents! (Starting in the Lane Room and then moving to the field next to Centre School-Weather Permitting)
Thursday, July 2 at 10 am: Storytime with Miss Paulina in the Children's Room. Summer storytimes are "all ages" and drop-in.
Fri., July 10 @ 10 am: Curious George 3, Not Rated
Fri., July 10 @ 1 pm: Batman: The Movie, Rated PG
 
Teen Programs
 
Teens can sign-up any time! Teens will get a Summer ID, the number they'll use each time they submit their reading logs for summer reading. Check with the Library after signing up for your Summer ID number.

Monday, July 6th: Our first Weekly Raffle in the Teen Area from 3:30-4:00 pm. Turn in your reading or attend to earn tickets! The Kona Ice Truck will be here. You don't have to do summer reading to get a Kona Ice. Kona has graciously agreed to be here once a week for anyone to get something cold and delicious. 
 
July 6th Reading Buddies 4:00-4:30 pm, Children's Room. Volunteer to read one on one with a eager reader. 
 
July 7th Game Booth Brainstorm Session 3:30-4:30 pm, Teen Area. Volunteer to design a game booth for the End of Summer Finale Party. The booths will be for the younger children who participate in the Children's Room Summer Reading Program. Free snacks.
 
July 8th Blue Ocean Society 1:00-2:00 pm. Learn about marine conservation and meet Ladder, their life size inflatable whale.
 
July 8th Blue Ocean Society Beach Clean-up, 6:00-8:00 pm. Volunteer to clean up at Jenness Beach. Parents can drop teens off but must sign a permission form.
 
July 9th 3:00-5:00 p.m. we'll host a Movie in the Teen Area with free popcorn.
 
July 10th Water Balloon Battle,  4:00-5:00 pm Lane Library Lawn. 
 
Weekly Prizes: Blitz Park, Captain's Cove, Las Olas, & Dunkin Donuts 
 
Reminders:
You'll earn tickets for any daily program(weekly raffle, movie night, Tuesday activities, etc) or volunteer program that you come to. Attend 7 programs and earn 25 tickets. 
 
Weekly raffle tickets are put towards the end of summer drawing every week.
 
Don't forget that the Teen Bingo Card earns you extra tickets.
 
You'll need your Summer ID number. This number can be found back near the Teen Area. The person at the Ref Desk can help you find your number. You can also call 926-3368 to find out Summer ID.
 
You can turn in your summer reading online. Follow the directions. You're entered for the weekly and end of summer drawings. That simple. 
 
I'll be sending periodic emails through out the summer talking about the programs we have and that you've signed up for.
