Library 100th Building Anniversary Bash

Friends, library lovers, and wine enthusiast please save the date - Saturday December 11th at 7:30 p.m. for the Lane Memorial Library 100th Building Anniversary Bash. We're looking forward to a fun evening in the library looking back to the way Hampton was in 1910 (with the help of the Hampton Historical Society), enjoying wine from local wineries, and raising money for a good cause. All of the proceeds will go to refreshing the New Hampshire Room, one of the two historic reading rooms in the original library building. There will be refreshments, music courtesy of the Mr. Clean Jazz trio, and ladies in Edwardian hats.

Ticket are on sale now at the library, $25 per person (must be 21 or older). Sponsored by Mackensen & Company, Inc. Co-sponsored by Tracy Theatre Originals, Parsons Electric Co., Inc., and the Rotary Club of Hampton. For more information call the library at 926-3368.

The Polar Express is coming!

Join us Thursday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m. (snow date—Wednesday, Dec. 8 @ 6:30 p.m.) for our Polar Express extravaganza!

Miss Joanne will read The Polar Express by Chris van Allsburg and there will be a secret, surprise guest. We’ll have snacks and a craft to bring home. Come in your pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal to join in the fun!

This popular program fills up quickly, so please be sure to get your name on our list. Sign ups begin on Monday, November 15. You can either sign up in person at the Children's Room or call us at 926-4729 to reserve tickets per family.

"Toy Story 3" Nov. 16, 20 and 24

Join us on Tuesday, November 16th at 5:45 PM and again on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 PM for a showing of the Disney / Pixar movie Toy Story 3. Set in the world of the original Toy Story, we move 10 years forward as Andy is getting ready to leave for college. While Andy wonders what to do with his beloved toys, Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang wonder if this is the end of the line. But when a mix up lands them in the Sunnyside Day Care Center where they meet 14 new toys, they soon discover that a wild new adventure is just beginning! Take an amazing journey with some of the most beloved characters in movie history and discover what being a friend is truly all about. It's everything a movie should be: hilarious, touching, exciting and clever -- USA Today.

The film is rated 'G', and admission is free. Drinks and popcorn will be provided by the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library. For those who have the day off, there is also a special 'No School' Matinee showing on Wednesday, November 24th at 11:00 AM.

12 p.m.: Movie "Beauty and the Beast" Rated G

National Gaming Day

National Gaming Day is coming up!
This year, we're ramping things up yet again! We'll have all of the board and card games we had last year, plus, we'll also have our X Box 360 up and running for games like Rock Band (Participate in the National Rock Band High Score Tournament!), Madden, Forza, etc.

The Library is a great place to meet and play games!

Play Pictureka! Card Game, Monopoly Deal, Scrabble Slam, LetterJam!, Say Anything, Wits & Wagers, Pictureka, Magic: The Gathering®, Dungeons & Dragons®… in the Lane Room any time on November 13. Or bring in your favorite board game to play in the library!

If you’ve got a favorite multi-player game that's compatible, I'm sure others would love to play with you! Change things up by playing with people with whom you don't normally play!
