Library’s value extends far beyond books

In these tough economic times libraries are often one of the busiest places in town as people (re)discover the host of free services that are available at their local public library. The Twilight Book Club reads "Out Stealing Horses"

Free movie showings for children


The Lane Library Children’s Room is offering two free movies for children:

A children’s MYSTERY MATINEE is coming to Lane Memorial Library on Monday, December 29th. This movie, recently released on DVD, features a brave elephant, a dandelion that is more than it appears, and animals drawn as only Dr. Seuss can.

The film begins at 1:30 p.m. and runs 86 minutes. It is rated G. Children in first grade and under must be accompanied at all times by an adult, and children in fourth grade and under must have an adult remain in the Lane Library while they are in the building.

Admission (including a light snack) is free. Please stop by to sign up, or call the Children’s Room at 926-4729.

daily donation jar, we were able to resume our subscription of the Times

Doll Clothes Silent Auction

As a benefit for the Friends of Lane Memorial Library, the Children's Room is hosting a Silent Auction for doll clothes that fit both American Girl and Bitty Baby dolls. These beautiful hand-made outfits include Slumber Party, Bitty Baby Sleepover, Native American, Hello Kitty!, and Winter Fun ensembles.
