Teen Events for Fall

With school in full swing the Teen Area is happy to offer a variety of after school events starting in October.

The library will hold a special after hours Open House on  Friday, October 3rd from 5:00-8:30pm. Teens, their Parents and Gamers are welcomed to the library. We're happy to announce that The Sages of RPG will be at this event, as gaming facilitators! The library will not be open to the general public.

The Sages of RPG is a local table top gaming group run by Wayne Moulton. They'll bring a wide variety of table top games to try out.

This event celebrates the completed renovation of our Teen Area, which was all possible thanks to the generous support of our Friends of the Library.

We would love parents and teens to come by and see our updated Teen Area, play video games, enjoy some pizza, and hear about what other programs we have in store for the coming year.

Teens can enter a Poetry Contest from October 1st to November 1st. Do you love to write poetry? Enter the Teen Poetry Contest to Celebrate Teen Read Week. Prizes go to three winners, who have the opportunity to be entered into another poetry contest sponsored by the Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA) library journal. One entry per person. Please see contest form  for complete guidelines. It is also available in the Teen Area, or download and print a copy online

Finally, on October 31st from 1:30-3:30 pm we'll have a Halloween face paint session in the Teen Area. Free face paints will be available for teens to get ready for Halloween!

Every week Teen Services will offer after school programming.

On Mondays Teens can head the Lane Room from 3:30-4:30 pm for Study Hall. Need to work on a group project? Want to hang out with your friends while you work on homework? We'll have snacks and drinks available.
