The Twilight Book Club reads "The Fall"

Join us on Tuesday, March 1st at 6:30 PM for a discussion of Albert Camus' The Fall. Published in 1956 and considered one of Camus most astute novels, The Fall is set in Amsterdam, and consists of a series of dramatic monologues by the self-proclaimed "judge-penitent" Jean-Baptiste Clamence, as he reflects upon his life to a stranger. In what amounts to a confession, Clamence tells of his success as a wealthy Parisian defense lawyer who was highly respected by his colleagues; his crisis, and his ultimate "fall" from grace. Combining a resolutely secular perspective with tantalizing religious images, The Fall explores themes of innocence, imprisonment, redemption, and truth.

The Twilight Book Club is open to all, with copies of each month's selection available at the main circulation desk. The Fall is a fast read, so there's still time to check it out and finish it over the weekend!
