CYNTHIA LORD, AUTHOR OF "RULES," IS COMING TO LANE!!!!

Cynthia Lord, the author of the amazing children's book, Rules, is coming to the Lane Room on Wed. Sept 10th at 4 p.m!!

Rules was the recipient of both the Newbery Honor and the New Hampshire Great Stone Face awards, as well as many other literary prizes nationwide. It is also a Marston School favorite (the students voted Rules their number one pick for the Great Stone Face Award).

Rules tells the story of Catherine, a Maine girl who makes up rules to help her autistic brother better navigate the world, even as she discovers through him that thinking outside the box brings unexpected friendship and opportunity. School Library Journal calls Rules a "lovely, warm read, and a great discussion starter," and Booklist praises it as "a heartwarming first novel."

Cynthia is a very popular speaker, who will not only discuss the writing of her book but will autograph copies of Rules that people bring in.

This is the one time she can come to Lane for the foreseeable future, as she is already booked at other venues until 2010.

Admission is free, and no sign ups are required. The presentation lasts approximately forty minutes.

You won't want to miss this wonderful and inspiring author!
